Purchase your presale voucher for $32.50: $25 annual use fee, $5 state processing fee, and $2.50 service charge.

Your Voucher Is Processed

Indian River County Tax Collector processes your presale voucher and records it with the state. A Specialty License Plate Voucher Receipt will then be mailed to you as confirmation of your purchase.

Redeem Your Voucher for the Plate

Once 3,000 presale vouchers are sold and the plate is produced, you can redeem your voucher for the Christopher Columbus High School specialty license plate through a Florida tax collector or license plate agency.

Columbus has more than 15,000 alumni, along with generations of families, faculty and staff who remain connected to the school. With the Columbus specialty plate soon to be available to eligible motorists in all 67 Florida counties, Explorers across the state will have a new way to show their Columbus pride while supporting the school. Once the plate is in production, the $25 annual use fee will support Christopher Columbus High School each year when the plate is renewed.

FAQ Information for Purchasing Pre-Sale Specialty License Plate Vouchers

No. Anyone who wants to support Columbus can reserve one — alumni, current and alumni parents, faculty, staff, and anyone else in Florida with a registered vehicle.
A presale voucher costs $32.50: a $25 annual use fee, a $5 state specialty plate processing fee, and a $2.50 service charge. Any additional registration, plate replacement, or other applicable motor vehicle fees are charged later when the physical plate is issued.
Once the voucher presale phase is complete and the Christopher Columbus High School Explorers specialty plate is in production, the $25 annual use fee supports Christopher Columbus High School Alumni Association. Funds may be used for academic programs, athletic programs, and need-based scholarships. The $25 annual use fee is collected each year the specialty plate is renewed.
No. During the presale phase, you are purchasing a voucher, not the physical license plate. Once your voucher is processed by the Indian River County Tax Collector, your voucher receipt will be mailed to you. You will continue using your current license plate until the Columbus plate is produced and available.
If Columbus does not reach the required 3,000 presale vouchers within the state’s presale period, you may apply the voucher toward another specialty license plate or request a refund of the specialty plate fee using HSMV Form 83363.
